My son has been sick for four days. I had to make my way to his school to collect some of his homework. To reach his school, I needed to alight at the bus stop that was close to an MRT station. This bus stop was one that I was familiar with, since I alight there every week to purchase my groceries.
When I alighted from the bus, my body instinctively walked towards the mall. After a few steps, I stopped myself and remembered that I was heading to a different place today. Thankfully I did not walk too far ahead.
We all have habits – good and bad – some of which remain hidden from ourselves. It certainly felt like the right thing to do when I was walking in the direction of the mall – since I do that so often – but I needed to stop in my tracks to think – where exactly was I heading.
I wonder what we can do to stop and think if we are heading in the right direction – in both our physical and spiritual aspects of our lives.
Let us ask for the grace to have eyes to see, as we implore Our Lady to show us the way to The Way.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
Signing off!
